Spring distribution complete

Distribution of the new Kansas Pregame Spring Edition is finally complete and while all spring sports seasons are fully underway there's still time to pick up a copy and use it as a guide to learn more about teams from across the state.

Spring Revival: 2019 Spring Sports Cover Reveal

Here’s the first look at the cover of the new Kansas Pregame Spring Sports Preview, the new release from Kansas Pregame, with coverage of baseball, softball and track & field.

In early March, 13 of the state’s top spring sports athletes gathered at the new Sharp Performance gym in downtown Salina to take part in the cover shoot for this all new magazine.
Each athlete is profiled inside the magazine as part of the “Spring Revival” feature.

The publication also includes dozens of team previews, features on a number of the top athletes in Kansas and a few surprises.

Final KSHSAA State Basketball brackets

The 2018-19 Kansas high school basketball season is over. Check out the State Tournament brackets at the links below:

Blue Valley Northwest won their third straight 6A Championship with a 53-41 victory over Washburn Rural. The Huskies got 17 points and 10 rebounds from Mike Peake while Christian Braun added 16 points and 10 boards. Wichita Southeast downed Shawnee Mission South in the third place game led by sophomore Jackie Johnson's 33 points, including six of 11 three-pointers.

Sub-state tournament play all wrapped up

From 6A all through 1A, sub-state basketball is all wrapped-up in the state of Kansas.

6A (Boys)

The 6A field at Koch Arena is set on the boys side. Every top-seed made state, with the excpetion of a gaint upset on the West side. Derby, who began sub-state with a 4-14 record and had to win a play-in game, fell just short of the state tournament with a loss in the sub-state finals. Derby destroyed fourth-ranked Topeka High, 62-26, and fell to 10th-ranked Lawrence-Free State by five points in the sub-state finals.

6A East

Dodge City indoor facility keeps Red Demons out of the elements

The Dodge City High School PE Expansion provides one of the best indoor practice facilities in the state. The project, completed in May 2018, is used for a variety of Dodge City High School programs and was funded as part of a bond issue.

Kansas Pregame caught up with Dodge City High School Athletic Director Jay Gifford to learn more about this new facility.
