Courtney Forte, Minneapolis High School:

Holding a record at an institution that has been playing organized sports for multiple decades is a feat in and of itself. Courtney Forte will forever be a part of Minneapolis Lions sports history, having amassed 718 rebounds throughout her career, the most in Minneapolis history.

The annual Sharp Performance Free Athletic Testing Combine returned to Salina April 17th after coronavirus concerns led to the cancellation of the free combine last spring. Dozens of athletes traveled to USD #305 District Stadium to test despite the cold temperatures and overcast skies. The event is free thanks to the generous support of sponsors like Salina Sports Medicine, providing patients a "home-field advantage."

Welcome Back Spring Sports

Just as we edged closer to the start of spring sports last season the world was thrown into chaos. A virus spread like wildfire around the globe and in mid-March led to the cancellation of not only the partially completed state basketball tournament, but also the entire spring sports season. Prom, graduation, the last two months of the senior year for the Class of 2020 were just a few of the many milestones which fell victim to the spread of the coronavirus and the rise of COVID-19.

Now, a year later, the picture looks much brighter.
