Tuesday's 83rd annual Scott City Relays were ran in near perfect conditions

The 83rd annual Scott City Relays were ran in near perfect weather conditions Tuesday and the Beavers repeated as boys' champions in the event. The Phillipsburg Panthers outpaced Hoisington for the girls' team title.

One of the most thrilling races of the meet featured Scott City standout 800 runner Wyatt Hayes holding off Hugoton's Jacob Eckert in an ultra-close finish. Check out the video, courtesy Scott City track coach Jim Turner, below:

Hayes is the defending state champion in the 800 meter run.
