Work on basketball/wrestling preview begins

Forty-eight high school basketball teams in Kansas saw their season come to an unceremonious end in March as the decision was made to pull the plug on the state tournament after the quarterfinals because of concerns surrounding the spread of the coronavirus.

Lisa Jennison grew up in Healy in a family that valued faith and athletics. The family attended the United Methodist Church in Healy, a town of 234 people located 24 miles from Scott City. Her mother, Diana, has long served as a positive influence.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced Wednesday that the start of the 2020-2021 school year will be delayed until at least the week following Labor Day. With Wednesday’s announcement, those connected to school offered extracurricular activities in Kansas are left worried and confused.
